Mariah will now begin Gillette’s nationwide hunt to find the woman with the most perfect legs in the U.S.

Judges will be looking for toned and attractive legs, as well as a woman who conveys self-confidence and has a lively personality.

The winners will compete against each other for a grand prize of £15,000 and tickets to one of Mariah’s summer gigs.

WEDNESDAY 31ST MAY 2006 MARIAH: BILLION-DOLLAR LEGS?

She won’t say if her perfect pins are worth that much...

Pop goddess Mariah Carey refuses to comment on reports that she’s insured her legs for a billion dollars.

The rumour did the rounds after she did a deal to front Gillette’s Legs Of A Goddess campaign. “I don’t want to talk about money,” she said, coyly. “But I would say that if your legs were insured for a billion dollars it wouldn’t be the best thing to go around talking about it.”

It’s a busy time for The Artist Formerly Known As Mimi as she’s about to embark on US tour and is also set to star in a film by the producer of Monster’s Ball.

WEDNESDAY 31ST MAY 2006 CAREY THRILLED ABOUT NEW FILM ROLE

Mariah Carey is desperate to start work on her new film Tennessee, after taking over the part from R&B rival Janet Jackson.

Jackson piled on the pounds to play a waitress in the film, but had to drop out after the project started interfering with her musical comeback.

Producer Lee Daniels, who made Monster's Ball, then turned to Carey after seeing her in a small movie role.

Carey explains: "It was really great because I did this little independent film with Mira Sorvino called Wise Girls.

"He happened to see it and hadn't seen 'the other one' (her film flop Glitter), so it was really cool because doing that enabled more doors to open for me.

"I haven't begun shooting yet. I'm very excited about it!"

WEDNESDAY 31ST MAY 2006 KATIE COURIC SAYS GOODBYE TO "TODAY" SHOW

Katie Couric is departing "Today" following 15 years on the show. She’ll become anchor and managing editor of the "CBS Evening News" in September.

As Katie Couric preps for her final “Today” show, Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson spent one final morning with Katie.

“How are the nerves?” Shaun asked.

“Good. It’s a little like an out of body experience to be honest with you,” Katie said.

And it’s no wonder. Less than 12 hours and counting until Katie says goodbye to 15 years of “Today.”

“When will the tears come?” Shaun asked her.

“Oh gosh. I feel like there's a lot of pressure on me to be very emotional and to cry,” Katie admitted. “If there are tears, they’ll be authentic tears and if not, there will be authentic feeling.”

And in a touching moment this morning, Mariah Carey presented Katie with a parting gift.

“This is your butterfly since you're leaving and you're free, Mariah said to Katie as she gave her the present.

Access spoke to Mariah about the trinket.

“I think they are very pretty but also symbolize freedom and kind of evolving, Carey explained. Obviously this is a new stage in her life so I thought it would be something nice.”

WEDNESDAY 31ST MAY 2006 MARY J. BLIDGE, MARIAH CAREY & THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS PRODUCE CUTTING EDGE RINGTONES

In a move to capitalize and the mega-popularity of ringtones, Pepsi Smash has collected some of the biggest names in the music industry and expects to give away 260 million ringtones in the campaign. So, if you're a television junkie like I am, then you've seen a Pepsi commerical featuring Mariah Carey singing "Time Of Your Life." In her natural fashion she's coming up out of floors, wind machines, with tons of dancers, water fountains, and more wing machines. And then she breaks out them damn booty shorts that I wish she would just hang up for good. In this campaign, the artists have produced orginial tracks that are made available as ringtones. But Pepsi takes it a step further with creating original short videos for each ringtone. Mariah was the lead artist kicking things off.

Now, if you're a New Yorker like I am, then you might have grown to hate ringtones. Any given time you could be riding the train and some pre-teen with a Boost Mobile phone might be there and blast your moments of quiet away with annoying ringtones. I was so glad to hear my favorite R&B Queen, Mary J. Blige's "Really Trying 2 Catch U" ringtone. It's a sweet and smooth R&B track which is very much cued for the grown and sexy crowd. I can't wait to download that to my cell phone and blast it on the train back at the annoying kids.

Jump on the Pepsi Smash bandwagon and check out the cool ringtones and ringtone videos!

TUESDAY 30TH MAY 2006 GILLETTE VENUS AWARDS BEST LEGS TITLE TO MARIAH CAREY

Gillette Venus (PG), a recognized authority on women's legs, today named Mariah Carey the first "Celebrity Legs of a Goddess." The superstar, who captured three GRAMMY® Awards for her celebrated six-times platinum album The Emancipation of Mimi, was immortalized with a 16-foot high likeness of her perfect legs. Ms. Carey unveiled the replica during a ceremony at New York's legendary Radio City Music Hall, home to some of the most famous legs in the world.

As the official 2006 "Celebrity Legs of a Goddess," Ms. Carey kicked off Venus' nationwide search for the woman with the most beautiful legs in the U.S. "Legs of a Goddess" contests will be held at select venues during Ms. Carey's highly anticipated concert tour, The Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, The Hits, The Tour.

"Mariah Carey was our hands-down choice for the first Venus 'Celebrity Legs of a Goddess' title," said Peter Clay, Vice President Premium Systems, Gillette Global Grooming. "She has gorgeous legs, and she radiates the inner beauty and confidence that embodies the Venus brand."

The "Legs of a Goddess" tour will visit five cities throughout the month of August. Contests will be held at Ms. Carey's concert venues in the following locations:

1. Miami, August 5, American Airlines Arena
2. Atlanta, August 9, Philips Arena
3. Philadelphia, August 11, Wachovia Center
4. Boston, August 21, TD Bank North Garden
5. New York, August 23, Madison Square Garden

Contestants will be asked to strut their stuff on a catwalk and "strike a pose" for a panel of expert judges to determine if they have the best legs in town. The judges will be looking for a woman with toned, shapely legs who exudes a confident, vibrant personality. The winner of each local market competition will receive VIP tickets to Ms. Carey's concert and a one-on-one meeting with her backstage after the show.

Winners from each local market contest will advance to the final round, where a national winner will be named and will receive a grand prize of $25,000 cash.

The "Legs of a Goddess" contest celebrates the Venus brand and its portfolio of razors. Venus offers a diverse collection of razors that caters to the needs and shaving preferences of every woman. The Venus line includes original Venus, Venus Divine, Venus Paradise, Venus Disposable and Venus Vibrance.

Mariah Carey
Enjoying one of the most extraordinary years of her entire career, Mariah Carey's 6-times platinum Island Records album The Emancipation Of Mimi captured three Grammy awards and recently passed its one-year anniversary on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. Mimi includes Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles, "We Belong Together" and "Don't Forget About Us," respectively - which tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits. Mimi has sold more than 9 million units worldwide to date, making it the biggest-selling album of 2005, and bringing Mariah's career sales more than 160 million units world-wide.

TUESDAY 30TH MAY 2006 MARIAH CAREY

Her career has taken a number of peculiar turns over the last few years, but Mariah Carey's remarkable five-octave voice continues to bring the singer her share of fame and success. The daughter of an opera singer, Carey was encouraged to develop her vocal skills at an early age. By her late teens, she was performing in New York City and soon landed a gig as a back-up singer for Brenda K. Starr. A month after handing her demo to Colombia Records exec Tommy Mottola, she was signed to her own deal. Her debut album, 'Vision of Love,' and follow-up efforts made Carey a huge star as she racked up hits on the pop, R&B and adult contemporary charts. She also married Mottola in 1993, though their union was destined to be short-lived.

Carey made the leap from chaste adult-contemporary singer to sultry hip-hop soul vixen with her 1997 album 'Butterfly.' Drastically changing her image, Carey asserted her independence from Mottola and found a new direction for her career. Unfortunately, the singer spread herself too thin in the new millenium after signing the biggest solo deal in music history (an $80 million contract with Virgin). She produced her first bonafide flop in the double-barrelled disaster that was her film debut and accompanying soundtrack, 'Glitter.' Worse still, Carey exhausted herself to the point of her now-infamous meltdown on MTV's 'TRL' before finally checking into a hospital for some much needed rest.

Carey and her new label parted ways with the singer getting a hefty payout of $28 million. Carey later signed with Island Def Jam Records, and after an unsuccessful period, she burst back onto the music scene in April 2005 with her 10th studio effort and acclaimed comback album 'The Emancipation of Mimi.' The record exploded on the charts and gave the singer the best-selling disc and most popular single of the year as well as an avalanche of accolades and awards (though U2 ended up stealing some of her thunder at the Grammys). Still a fan favorite who manages to appeal to housewives and hip-hoppers alike, Carey obviously aims to stay on the scene for many years to come.

Mariah Carey did what she does best last week at the Boys & Girls Club of Newark’s "Evening of the Stars" event. Queen Latifah and MTV’s big honcho John Sykes were honored at the fund-raiser.

Miss Carey appeared unexpectedly to present Sykes with his award. He founded the VH-1 "Save the Music" program, which raises money for musically inclined city kids, to supplement government cutbacks. In typical Mariah style - pink satin mini, sky-high ankle-strap heels, a riot of diamonds sparkling against bared skin - she stayed the night, enjoying violinist Miri Ben-Ari.

Afterward, she allowed herself to be mobbed by young fans and posed and posed and signed and signed. More than anything else, Mariah Carey loves being loved by her adoring public.

MONDAY 29TH MAY 2006 MARIAH TAKING SINGING LESSONS?

The super-star diva is taking singing lessons to fit her star role in a new film, according to a published report.

This well-know star, who is known for her daring trills and unprecedented success in the music world as a female singer, has come across a new challenge to conquer. She will be starring as a waitress who blew up to fame in her newest film, "Tennessee". The diva wants to learn how to sing country and western style music.

All of her previous movies were anything but successes. This left everyone criticizing her acting skills.

A producer claims, "Mariah is determined to make sure that this film isn’t a flop."

The failure of her film "Glitter" caused the 36-year-old singer to have an "emotional breakdown", for which she was hospitalized.

"Glitter" had a similar plot to her new film. The plot in "Glitter" was about a singer on a journey towards fame but was also shadowed on her life story as well.

"State Property 2" was another failure that she has starred in.

MONDAY 29TH MAY 2006 CAREY: TOUR REQUIRES QUIET, SLEEP AND HUMIDITY

Diva-licious Mariah Carey is hitting the road later this summer, but in between shows she won’t be doing a lot of chatting (if you really need to speak to her, hit her up with a text).

"In my down time, the thing that requires the most discipline is not talking," Carey -- who needs a full day and a half off between concerts -- tells the Associated Press.

"Like, I wouldn’t be doing an interview. I wouldn’t be talking to anyone, I’d be writing notes, and sitting in a humidified room, sleeping." Carey is touring in a bus that will contain its own quarters for her dog, Jack, as well as TVs and the aforementioned humidifiers. In other words, she’s totally roughing it.

  • SUNDAY 28TH MAY 2006 MARIAH CAREY TAPS "IDOL'S" RANDY JACKSON TO RETOOL "ADVENTURES OF MIMI"

NEW YORK — Mariah Carey is tapping a longtime friend -- "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson -- to help her mix things up a bit on her "Adventures of Mimi" tour, which kicks off in August.

"With this tour, I'm going to be working on some different arrangements for some of the older songs, to kind of like, give it a little more life to them," Carey recently told The Associated Press. "That's not to say they're going to sound totally different and to freak anybody out ... (but) I love re-singing songs to different music."

Carey and Jackson have been meeting to discuss how she'll spice up some of her old hits, and Jackson might even join her on a few dates.

"Randy Jackson is my musical director, and he has been for many years, even before 'American Idol,"' she noted.

Carey, who hasn't toured since 2003, is still riding high off the success of last year's "The Emancipation of Mimi" album, which gave her a huge comeback, with hits like "We Belong Together" and three Grammy awards.

She said cajoling from fans helped convince her to get back on the road.

"I genuinely want to tour with these new songs, as well as older hits," she told The AP. "These new songs mean so much to me, this time of my life has been so wonderful for me, and I want to experience that with my fans."

"The Adventures of Mimi" tour, which begins Aug. 5 in Miami and ends Oct. 10 in Phoenix, will make stops in 30 cities across the U.S.

  • SUNDAY 28TH MAY 2006 JANET JACKSON BLAMES A FILM FOR GETTING FAT

Los Angeles, May 27: The singer, who has been pictured in recent months looking very plump, claims she had to put on weight for a role in upcoming movie 'Tennessee', but later pulled out of the project to concentrate on her new album.

She said, "The producers wanted to see me in a different light, as a heavier woman.

"The timing didn't quite work with trying to finish my album, and unfortunately I wasn't able to do the film. So I found myself having to take this weight off a lot quicker than I had planned."

After the 40-year-old singer quit the project, filmmakers handed the role to Mariah Carey.

Jackson - who at her heaviest weighed 180 pounds - claims her long-time boyfriend, music producer Jermaine Dupri, is a fan of her fuller figure.

She revealed in an interview with AP: "I've never had someone love me for me, so unconditionally. He loves me regardless of my size. He was never any different toward me."

However, the singer - who has now slimmed back down to her normal weight - admits not everyone was as keen on her large look.

She added: "People didn't treat me differently to my face, but I'm sure they had their whispers behind my back. But I didn't feel bad about myself at all. It was part of my job."

SUNDAY 28TH MAY 2006 MARIAH CAERY'S FISHY DIET

Mariah Carey is living on plain fish and soup in a bid to shed the excess pounds.

The beautiful diva has taken all calorific treats off the menu until she reaches her target weight.

She told America's People magazine she's been on a 'really bleak diet, which is basically soups and fish prepared really blandly'.

However, it's unlikely Mariah will ever get too skinny - because she's terrified of losing her sexy curves.

The stunning star has said although she likes working out she can't exercise too much in case she loses her ample butt.

She told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: 'I've been working out like mad - you can even punch me in the stomach and feel how tight that is.

'But I've gotta slow it down because the other day someone told me I was losing my ass - and I don't want to lose that.'

SATURDAY 27TH MAY 2006 AP INTERVIEW MARIAH: MARIAH CAPS OFF "EMANCIPATION" RUN

It was starting to look grim for fans who were hoping Mariah Carey would tour to support "The Emancipation of Mimi."

She certainly didn’t need to. Since its release last year, the album sold more than five million copies, spawned smash hits like "We Belong Together" and won three Grammys, all without her hitting the road.

Plus, Carey didn’t even know if she wanted to tour. She dreaded staging a long jaunt, and was taking time to savor the sweet success of her comeback. But after some cajoling from fans, the multi-octave diva realized that she needed to be on stage — that she wanted to celebrate the album that marked one of the sweetest times in her long career.

AP: What took you so long to get on the road?

Carey: (Laughs.) Honestly, it was kind of like the album, it has its own life. And I wanted to allow myself to make videos, to really work the record more than I have ... allow people to experience the album, to live with the songs, to feel the videos and the energy and basically get where I was coming from with this project on that level first.

AP: What are the special things you’re planning this time around?

Carey: It’s going to be kind of off the cuff ... When I said there may be special guests, that’s kind of the way the record was made. It’s like, I’m in a studio, someone is in the next room, all of a sudden, me and Snoop made a record together. It wasn’t planned. If I happen to be in a city where I know somebody who I collaborated with on the record, you never know, they might want to show up if we have that kind of relationship.

AP: How do you determine which songs you’re going to play and which ones you’re not going to sing without alienating your fans

Carey: I feel like I’m a tough critic. When I go to other people’s shows that I’m fans of, and if I don’t hear my favorite song, I’m like, `Man, why?’ (laughs). I’m going to do my best to please the crowd, but I also want to be able to express myself creatively, and I think that there’s a happy medium now. The set list that I’m working with now — I won’t reveal it yet, darling (laughs) — but it’s a work in progress, it is going to achieve that, because some of the fans really do want to hear an old album cut. And then it’s like some of the fans have heard you do `Hero’ 9,000 times and are like whatever.

AP: How much stuff do you haul around on tour?

Carey: I’m in the process of trying to get my bus together because I’m going to go by bus for the first time, because I really do sleep well by driving — not at the wheel (laughs) but I’ve always been able to sleep in a car, and my main thing is I always need a lot of rest when I tour ... I think it’s going to be pretty cool, especially in America, to see the surroundings and really feel where I’m at, as opposed to being whisked into a hotel room at whatever-o-clock in the morning.

AP: Is your dog, Jack, coming?

Carey: Oh yes, Jack has his own section. He’s going to have his own little nook. It’s already planned out. ... I may have to bring him out every now and then. It depends on the crowd.

AP: Besides Jack, what is a must-have on the bus?

Carey: Really just to make it as private as possible in my little living space where I’ll be hanging out and sleeping. As long as I have a TV and a bed a some humidifiers, I’ll be all right.

AP:What do you do during your down time?

Carey: I don’t know if people realize that for me to tour, I actually have to have a full day and a half off in between shows, whereas most touring artists do every night, and I just can’t do that, because I’m very strong, but I’m very delicate in many ways too. So in my down time, the thing that requires the most discipline is not talking. Like, I wouldn’t be doing an interview. I wouldn’t be talking to anyone, I’d be writing notes, and sitting in a humidified room, sleeping.

AP: Has your voice ever given out on you on tour?

Carey: No, it’s never that, I just know my voice. And honestly, the late great, Luther Vandross — who I had the utmost respect for — taught me an invaluable lesson, which is about the humidification, because the tone of his voice, the airy quality, when he would sing in that breathy voice, there’s a similarity that we have. He would say, `The best place for us is a really warm climate, and you really need to make sure you have humidifiers around yourself all the time.’

AP: With all the success you’ve had with this album, has it become one of your most special?

Carey: This and "Butterfly" are my two favorites because they mark two very special significant times in my life, so this will always be a favorite of mine. And I just love that songs like "Shake It Off" were allowed to be singles. In the past, I would immediately get, "It’s too urban, you can’t put it out." The experience of this record has just been so much fun for me, and just the freedom, and the title was very apropos, because this has been a lot of freedom for me as an artist.

AP: So now that you’re free and there’s been an emancipation ...

Carey: Now we’re having an adventure.

SATURDAY 27TH MAY 2006 RANDY JACKSON TALKS ABOUT "ADVENTURES" TOUR

Together for the first time since the star-studded finale, American Idol winner Taylor Hicks and runner-up Katharine McPhee; and judge Randy Jackson sat down for an interview with special guest host Ryan Seacrest on CNN's Larry King Live last night. During the chat, Randy Jackson talked about touring with Mariah Carey this summer.

[ Download video clip here ]

Ryan Seacrest: You've made it clear on the show that you worked with Mariah Carey for a long time now and I read this morning that you're embarking on a tour with her. First tour in the U.S. in three years. What will you be doing with Mariah this time around?
Randy Jackson: I'm actually her musical director, have been that for a long time, and we're putting the tour together.

RS: What does that mean in terms of the tour?
RJ: It means that arranging the songs, putting all the music together, rehearsing the band, putting the band together, the singers, the dancers, the whole kit and caboodle. In fact, I helped greatly with the first two or three Idol tours of the kids that they're going to go on this summer.

So, you know, it's kind of what I do. It's like second nature for me because I played with her for so long and produced and wrote songs with her, so we're like, you know, we're like best pals so it's like, you know, she thinks it and I'm going like "OK, I already got you."

You know we were on the phone yesterday on a conference call for like four hours talking about the show because I had just seen Madonna's show and I'm just, you know, got things rattling in my brain how we really want to make the show the hottest show on earth, you know.

RS: What was the key to her comeback?
RJ: I think, you know, she is probably for me in my estimation one of the greatest talents we've ever had because you have Celine, we're going to keep it real right here, I always keep it real. We have Celine, we have Whitney, great singers, sold 100 million albums, 120 million albums each.

Mariah has sold 165 million albums but most importantly she co-wrote every one of them, co-wrote 19 number one records, co-wrote, co-produced all of them. That's the difference. When you actually are in control of your own destiny, meaning that you can write and you're just not waiting for songwriters to bring you songs, dude that's bigger than anything because what it's basically saying it's you actually did it. You know you do it the other way too but you're more of an actor when you're singing other people's songs.

FRIDAY 26TH MAY 2006 MARIAH HAIRY

Finally! Proof! Judging from her most horrendous fashion moments, it’s been a topic of much debate whether Mariah Carey actually has any mirrors in her various swank-palaces.

Well, it has come to light that she does. She’s got mirrors and sinks, chairs that go up and down, a selection of out-of-date magazines and a jar full of blue liquid to keep her combs in. Yes, that’s right, she’s got her own hairdressers. In her house. Honestly!

Look, she told the Mirror and everything. She described her New York home, saying: "Downstairs I have a salon where I love to practise my hairstyles."

And then get dressed with the lights off, presumably...

  • THURSDAY 25TH MAY 2006 MARIAH ASKS "IDOL" JUDGE TO SPICE UP TOUR

Mariah Carey is tapping a longtime friend -- "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson -- to help her mix things up a bit on her "Adventures of Mimi" tour, which kicks off in August.

"With this tour, I’m going to be working on some different arrangements for some of the older songs, to kind of like, give it a little more life to them," Carey recently told The Associated Press. "That’s not to say they’re going to sound totally different and to freak anybody out ... (but) I love re-singing songs to different music."

Carey and Jackson have been meeting to discuss how she’ll spice up some of her old hits, and Jackson might even join her on a few dates.

"Randy Jackson is my musical director, and he has been for many years, even before §American Idol,"§ she noted.

Carey, who hasn’t toured since 2003, is still riding high off the success of last year’s "The Emancipation of Mimi" album, which gave her a huge comeback, with hits like "We Belong Together" and three Grammy awards.

  • THURSDAY 25TH MAY 2006 CAREY’S FILM COMEBACK WAS JACKSON’S ROLE

The film role that will put MARIAH CAREY back on the big screen originally belonged to JANET JACKSON. Jackson has revealed she gained almost half her body weight to play a Southern waitress in TENNESSEE and weighed in at 180 pounds (82 kilograms), but had to pass on the project when filming schedules started to interfere with her pop comeback.

The NASTY singer confesses she was preparing for the unflattering role when she was snapped looking overweight and sluggish in tabloid photos at the end of 2005, but she was sworn to secrecy about the film. Jackson, who recently turned 40, has since shed the extra weight thanks to a hardcore fitness regime. She says, "I put on the pounds for a film I was to do with LEE DANIELS, the producer of MONSTER’S BALL, which a lot of people didn’t know. "They (producers) wanted a full-figured woman.

She’s from the South, a waitress... They wanted to see me in a different light, as a heavier woman. I was excited about it. "(I ate) whatever I desired: `Ooh, that looks good, give me that piece of cake!’ That was the fun part. "They had to push the film back. The timing didn’t quite work with trying to finish my album, and unfortunately I wasn’t able to do the film." Carey has since taken over the role.

  • WEDNESDAY 24TH MAY 2006 CAREY ON AT REXALL

It’s been a long time since a real pop diva came to Edmonton. So is Mariah Carey real enough for you?

The pop diva to end all pop divas is set to perform at Rexall Place on Sept. 21. Carey is still hot from her wins at the last Grammy Awards and her most successful album in years, The Emancipation of Mimi. She’s launched an extensive world tour behind it, dubbed The Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, the Hits, the Tour, which needs no further description.

From humble beginnings as a songbird with a five octave range and a well-publicized marriage to - and then a break-up from - the president of her record company, Tommy Mottola, Carey became one of the top-selling female artists in the world. She can still sing like the dickens.

Tickets to the show are $109.50, $89.50 or $69.50 and go on sale Friday at 2 p.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets (451-8000).

TUESDAY 23RD MAY 2006 NOT ALBERTA BOUND

    Elton not Mimi.

That appears to be the good news, bad news situation for local music lovers in September.

On the sad side of things, Mariah Carey will apparently bypass the city on her latest tour.

Yesterday the diva announced the plans for her new tour to support the chart-topping album The Emancipation of Mimi, and Calgary was left off the itinerary.

Instead, Carey will perform a date Sept. 21 in Edmonton at the Rexall Place and skip the city on her way to Vancouver for a show at GM Place Sept. 23.

Tickets for that show go on sale June 2 at all Ticketmaster locations.

TUESDAY 23RD MAY 2006 MARIAH CAREY COMING TO THE PEPSI ARENA

She’s won five Grammys and gone platinum several times over. But there’s one thing Mariah Carey hasn’t done -- played a concert in Albany.

That’s going to change on Sept. 1 when Carey brings her "Adventures of Mimi" tour to the Pepsi Arena. Arena officials made the announcement Tuesday morning.

Over the past year, Carey has staged an amazing comeback, selling more than six million copies of her latest album.

This won’t be the first time Carey has been to the Capital Region. Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady was chosen as the site for her first concert special in 1993, and the theatre is featured in the video for her hit "Hero."

Tickets for the Pepsi Arena concert go on sale June 2. Prices range from $20 to $155.
